DESCRIPTION

Pintia is the famous Vega Sicilia’s project in Toro. The result of many years of research, they now have just under 100 hectares of vines up to 50 years old, plus a state of the art winery.

100% Tempranillo, locally called  Tinta de Toro. The handpicked estate grown grapes were destemmed, crushed and fermented in large oak vats before being aged for one year in new American (70%) and French (30%) oak barrels. Once bottled the wine was not released for another two years. At 700 hundred meters and with a fierce continental climate, Toro is a tough beast to tame. Fortunately Vega Sicilia have proved themselves up to the task.
