DESCRIPTION

Château Pontet-Canet is a red wine produced in the Pauillac appellation. Displaying a very intense red color, the Château Pontet-Canet 2000 reveals a powerful nose, beautifully balanced between fruit (blackberry, raspberry) and the wood of its barrel-aging (licorice, toasted notes). The attack on the palate shows great amplitude and sweetness.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Dark garnet with a brown edge (indicative of age), a cross between a ruby and tawny port.
Nose: Stewed prunes, worn suede, earth, cigar, black cherry, crushed dry leaves, blackberry, sage, grilled mushrooms.
Palate: Blueberry, blackberry, black pepper, raisin, very lush mouthfeel – gave me the sense of a rich pulp – tannic, dry, long finish.
