DESCRIPTION

A very rare and truly fabulous peated Japanese whisky from Hakushus. This 25 year old was awarded a Silver Medal at the Malt Maniac Awards in 2009, and whisky critic Jim Murray rated it 93 points out of a possible 100, saying he was “blown away” by it.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: A smouldering, smoky nose with toffee apples, rancio, Armagnac, ginger and nutmeg.
Palate: A rich, sherried palate with wood smoke, linseed, rhubarb and custard sweets, raspberries and walnut. A hint of spearmint develops.
Finish: A long, herbal, nutty finish with bittersweet oak on the tail.
